I’m a seventeen year old high school student and I am extremely interested in becoming an actress. I took an Acting Workshop class at my school two years ago and I got a 90% A and the teacher said I have “Stage Precense”. I’ve been interested in Acting as a career since I was five or six years old.

So, my question is this: What should I do to pursue a career in acting? I live on Long Island (close to NYC). Should I print up a resume now and take headshots after February (when I get my braces off) and then go on auditions over the summer?

My aunt says I should go to college, which I want to, but I want to make sure I’ve exhausted every effort to become an actress first. So should I take a year off to pursue acting and then go to college?

Do you need an acting coach to act/audition for things? What exactly do acting coaches do?
I practice skits and lines all the time. So if that kind of what you do with an acting coach, maybe I won’t need one… I’m not sure. Do you have to pay acting coaches?

I want to deactivate this email address and I created a new one but I don’t email people regularly. However I have important audition, career, school, bank and etc. emails sent to me to this address and I’d like to notify them that my address has changed, but I don’t have their address so how can an automatic email be sent that I changed my address, I hope I’m making sense.

There are not many places to go in Australia unless you have money and I don’t but I want this…

I mean as in do any casting callers(?) or directors come on here… I am a medicine practitioner but would like to do acting on the side or even another job as i am passionate…..
