What kind of skit should i do for an acting audition?
I want to be an actor. i dont know how to get ready for an audition. what kind of skit should i perform to get the job. What will the audition be like. should i come with any items even though i have never been trained. Help!!!!!!!!

Usually, an audition will tell you what they want from you. (i.e. musical number, dramatic monologue, etc. ) Find a good monologue and memorize it. Tom’s monologue from the opening of The Glass Menagerie is always a good one.
Get yourself a headshot and definitely prepare a one minute monologue (comedic or dramatic) so that you have some memorized text to show the casting directors. Look up monologue websites on the net or go to your local bookstore and browse the theater/film/arts section.
Is it for live theatre? It also depends on the director. Most directors like comedic pieces though. If it is a musical, have a song prepared, and be ready to dance. Have sheet music, as it looks more professional.
Also bring; water, shoes you find easy to dance in, a healthy snack or two, a phone, and maybe someone for moral support.
I suggest a comedic monolouge, that will be easy to act to. Just google “monologues” or “short monologues” to get what you want.
Break a leg! ;P
