SO I am going to an audition for movie/TV and I was just wondering what I need to know. It’s on Sunday January 2nd so about a week to prepare. I’m 14 years old if that helps you.
How should I act?
What to expect?
Can I ask to look over the lines before I show them what I can do?
How to not get all nervous and shaky????
Any other tips??
Please and Thank You for your help!

If they’ve not sent you any script to prepare, they may want to see you perform something of your own, so have three or four short monologues ready, and then you can offer them a serious one, a comedy one, a period piece (like Shakespeare) and so on. On the other hand, they may give you the script when you arrive, give you a few minutes to memorise it, and then expect you to perform it straight away. This gives them an idea of how quickly you can learn it and if you can think quickly and give an intelligent interpretation. The hardest possibility is that they will expect you to do a cold reading – have no time to prepare and just read from the page.
All you can do is your best. Smile, relax, be nice to everyone (and I mean everyone) and don’t overact.
Good luck!
if you don’t know what to do and expect on an audition, your not ready for one. make sure this isn’t a scam. real auditions aren’t on the weekends and never on a Sunday. if this was a real audition, you
would know exactly what its for and you would know what character your trying for and have a
description of the character. most auditions are cold reads. you will get a small script of your
lines when you get there, and a few minutes to prepare before you go in. there will be several people in the room. the casting director, an asst. or two, the director, producer or both and maybe some cast members that have already been picked. your audition will be filmed. if you get educated and trained before you start things you will have an idea of whats going on and not be nervous and shaky.
How do you not know if it’s an audition for a movie or TV??
(I’m seriously curious. If you answer I’ll give you some tips)
