If someone read many books about acting, audition techniques etc, would any of them actually help someone become any better at acting or be more confident during auditions?

    I believe so, yes. Everything you know more than the next person competing for a part, give you an advantage. Keep learning, keep studying.

    I would say so to an extent!

    Not only is being knowledgeable about acting good for you but so is actually performing. If you never performed in front of an audience and decide to just read books about acting you would likely fail.

    With an equal balance of both information and performing you could become a more well rounded artist rather than just a person with knowledge.

    I hope this helps.

    knowledge=confidence.

    read Karen Kolhaas’s book The Monologue Audition. I read it constantly, she has so many good tips.
